Tropicana Canna Lily Water Plant

Robust upright perennial with underground rhizomes from which new plants arise (1.75m x 0.5m). Hybrid of South American parentage. Banana like leaves emerge purple becoming striped with green; yellow; pink and red. Terminal orange flower. Useful planted in clumps for a lush tropical theme. Prefers fertile and moist well drained soil. Needs full sun to flower well. Protect from wind. Tolerates light frosts only. In frost areas protect the roots with a thick mulch in winter or lift rhizomes in autumn. Drought sensitive.
